The entire day was planned around Malau who we had “convinced” to join us for a luring mission.
The plan was to meet at 6am at Nigel’s place but at 5.15am, Nigel messaged me saying that he was cancelling, despite effectively planning the event and instigating the entire affair.
We moved into the first spot at about 6.30… At about 8.15 and after a very poor showing, we decided to move to the second spot. Malau was visibly exhausted but we pushed on but ended up catching no fish. There was only 1 lost temensis estimated at about 400-500grams at the same spot (and same chapalang method) where I had missed my massive Temensis.
Towards the end of the trip, Malau broke the rod which I had loaned him by twisting the line around the rod tip…. and pulling……
This 1 week old $30 virgin rod died without experiencing any hookups..
Operation result: Total Failure!
